Last week saw the annual ILP Lightscene event take place at Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club, bringing together lighting professionals from across the country to discover the latest and greatest innovations that the industry has to offer.
The event welcomed figureheads from the rail industry to lead a number of seminars throughout the day, offering insight into the opportunities present within the sector and encouraging collaboration between the two industries. One seminar, delivered by Rob Hopkin of Rail Alliance, gave an overview of the current lighting landscape in the railway sector whilst Alan Jacques spoke on the challenges of lighting level crossings. A morning seminar, presented by Steve Anderson, focused on lighting education and its benefit on both employers and employees.
The event saw us demonstrate three Clara road units, including a 100 body 22W, a 300 body 85W and a 500 body 150W – the latter of which featured our competition to win three bottles of Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage champagne. All participants had to do was estimate the lumen output of our 150W Clara fitting on display. The competition attracted a wide range of guesses, with the lowest putting the Clara fitting at a derisory 10 lumen per watt whilst the highest guess did not exceed the Clara’s actual luminous efficacy of 170 lumen per watt. The winners of the competition have been notified.
Advanced LEDs would like to thank all in attendance for their continued support.
