Advanced LEDs have provided a complex competition pool design for a leisure centre in Norfolk, with the proposed installation due to take place in late 2015.
The design uses a point for point installation and required complex design work to incorporate some of the more challenging architectural elements of the building. The new design, replacing the previous direct and therefore glare-prone design; implements our knowledge of indirect sports lighting techniques gained through our vast experience of designing for similar swimming facilities. As such, we have proposed a new Sport England compliant scheme achieving 300 lux, to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for swimmers and lifeguards.
We have proposed the replacement of the incumbent 400W fittings with our 170W and 195W Clara Flood fittings supplied with specialist glare reducing sports lenses. The design surpasses Sport England required levels of illuminance by achieving 341 lux Eav. The scheme will significantly raise light levels as well as saving 80% energy – over £7,800 annually. From a financial standpoint, the scheme achieves an ROI of 469% and a payback period of 2.13 years.
We have included images of the existing lighting scheme, alongside our own lighting designs for the project.
